This is an early playtest version of the Sublight Chess variant applet (initially posted 8/25/07), just slightly modified from some nicely- considered work attempting a concise introduction to the nature of chess game programming posted in 2002 by Peter Hunter, a Dominican friar in England. Try it out and if you have suggestions send email to feedback.

Revision notes: Altered piece definitions for Bishop, Rook & Queen to restrict range to 2 squares or less. Averted array index underflow in reps() sbr caused by switching sides at start.
